Solo takes place in Hollywood and Ghana, two vastly different places, but both filled with music, dance, art, and the preciousness of life. Here are pics from our recent trip to the beautiful, colorful, awe-inspiring, music-filled country of Ghana.
The Solo book launch and tour has taken us to exciting places near and far: BEA and the Gibson Showroom in New York City, ALA and filming a music video for Solo in and around Chicago (and the Odyssey Cruise), the amazing village of Konko in Ghana, the Langston Hughes House/I, Too Arts Collective in Harlem, the Library of Congress, wonderful local events (Politics and Prose, Scrawl Books, Bards Alley, Chick’s Picks, school visits), filming episodes of Bookish in NYC, rock concerts to celebrate the music, the 49th NAACP Image Awards, and the CABA awards. I have felt blessed to be on this incredible rock & roll journey with and all of you.

The Swing book launch and tour was filled with literature, art, jazz, and important conversations about some heavy-hitting social justice issues. The outpouring of love, support, and meaningful discussions has meant the world to me. I am grateful to be a part of the #HugLife movement to get readers talking and taking action. Because we all deserve to feel safe and loved.
